259 Marble Street is part of the West Rutland Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places. This two-story, early 1900’s building was renovated for the Rutland County Community Land Trust to positively contribute to West Rutland’s artist district. The design blends the requirement of meeting the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, with the need for an open, spacious, and day-lit gallery space. The first floor storefront spaces house the Marble Carving Studio, while the rear of the building and the second floor provide affordable housing.
