The design for the National Bank of Middlebury Lobby Renovations focused on improving movement through the space and providing access for customers, while maintaining the historic character of the building. The existing lobby and teller line was outdated, inefficient and confusing to the customer. Renovations reorganized the public spaces, enlarged the entry, and updated the teller workstations for new technologies. The vestibule and teller line were designed to match existing woodworking in the building, and the original marble flooring was salvaged and incorporated into the new design. The resulting space is welcoming, warm and fully accessible.
