194, 196-198 Columbian Ave

194 and 196-8 Columbian Avenue were built by F. Chaffee & Son in the late 1800’s. These significant historic structures, having been neglected for years, were purchased by the Rutland County Community Land Trust for multi-family housing. For this renovation and restoration project, we assessed the existing conditions of the two buildings, developed cost estimates for renovations and code-related upgrades, and designed affordable housing in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
