The Beckwith Block is a significant historic structure in the Middlebury Downtown Historic District. Located next to the National Bank of Middlebury, this early 1900’s building provided our client the opportunity to expand their services and consolidate operations. The project involved renovating the building to meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and returning the building to its glory as one of the finest buildings in Addison County. New mechanical, electrical, and communication systems were designed to meet today’s needs without disturbing the historic architecture of the building. Almost 15 years later the client invited Arnold & Scangas Architects to update interior finishes.
