The Colchester Historical Society rescued a ca. 1815 log schoolhouse discovered during renovations to a local camp in the year 2000. The historical society worked with the Town of Colchester to find a new home for the building at Airport Park. The building was restored as a one-room schoolhouse based on historic research and photos, interviews with former students and original building elements and clues left behind on the log structure. Today the Schoolhouse functions as an information center and museum.
