The Butler Building is a significant historic structure of the St. Albans Downtown Historic District. Neglected for many years, the building had been condemned. Working with Lake Champlain Housing Development Corporation and Housing Vermont, we assessed the existing conditions of the structure, developed cost estimates, and designed renovations and building code upgrades. This mixed-use project complied with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation for Reinvestment Tax Credits.
