Working with Rutland County Community Land Trust and Housing Vermont, Arnold and Scangas Architects renovated this four-story brick building located in the heart of downtown Rutland for mixed-use development. The project team completed a building assessment of existing conditions, developed cost estimates for renovations, and completed construction documents for this $1.8 million downtown revitalization project. Construction on the project began in August 2004 and was completed in the summer of 2005. The building provides retail and office space and 14 affordable housing units. The completed project complied with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
