Working for Revitalizing Waterbury, Arnold and Scangas Architects provided complete architectural services for the renovation and restoration of the Waterbury Railroad Station. The Waterbury Railroad Station was built in 1875 and served the Central Vermont Railroad. Revitalizing Waterbury, a local non-profit, proposed to renovate the railroad station into a welcome center for the community. We assessed the existing conditions of the railroad station, developed a program for the welcome center, and designed the restoration and renovation of the building. The project complies with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, Section 106 Review and VTrans Enhancement Program requirements. The project was completed in September 2006.
